Suffice it to say a lot of really cool engineering is being done today by the one and only Koenigsegg. You know them as the ludicrously insane Swedish Hypercar people behind the car that tried to kill !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and then went on to eat some tires in its gapping maw. But actually they aren't just ludicrous purveyors of tire slaying nom nomery. They are actually quite a brilliant little outfit. They are developing some of the world's most brilliant V8's in existence. Part of this is their Free Valve technology, which allows for the engine to be camshaft free. For those not verse in the technological nature of engines, the camshafts rotate and open and close the valves throughout the engine. These new valves don't run on a camshaft but rather pneumatically driven and can allow the engine to turn off cylinders to become more efficient. It can also allow the engine to have a greater range of power delivery throughout the rev range. For much better insight and a series I highly recommend, nice job JF, go to /Drive's YouTube channel and look up !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . They also have some really amazing insights in Carbon Fiber and other bits of the car like the doors which are completely crazy amazing.
But this really amazing tech is not the basis for this short article, but rather a car they are developing is.
Our very own Euro-opnik !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! did a very brief summation of this but I felt that it needed to go further in depth and the audaciousness of this car. There will supposedly be 6 examples of the car built and they have already be sold...naturally to some Saudi Sheikh that will store it in Dubai and never drive it, which is a true shame when you learn about the ridiculousness of this cars name. The car is called the One:1, this meaning that the cars power to weight ratio will be 1 to 1. Just take that in for a second. A 1 to 1 ratio, that's bonkers, I can't even think of any race cars that have that. F1 cars have a power to weight ratio of about 2:1 which is great, that's why they can accelerate how they do, but its not 1:1. The car is aiming to have 1400hp and be 1400kg. I don't think even Koenigsegg have an idea what the stats are going to be just yet, but they are shooting for a top speed of around 280mph. Suffice it to say its going to be fast and hopefully Koenigsegg grants the Stig one more go at it with this beast. We probably won't ever see one of these which is a real shame, Koenigsegg's are amazing, beautiful and brilliantly engineered, and the sound they make is truly one of the greatest sounds a car has ever made. The only price they have commented on saying was the it will be "significantly higher" then the Agera R which retails for around a million. So fastest car on the planet? Eat that Bugatti.

I want to love Koenigsegg and all... but it's articles like these that keep me wary.

I believe the power-to-weight ratio is HP/kg, not HP/lb, which is still a monumental achievement. Koenigsegg is the only hypercar maker right now that truly excites me, and the ludicrous engineering like this is the precise reason.

Yeah thanks I changed it and that is still crazy power to weight.

Yeah but didn't that guy get ousted for being full of shit? Also he then crashed a McLaren , you can't blame Koenigsegg for idiots that try and buy their cars.

He's also the douche driving the Veyron in this video.
Oh, and his friend in the F50 crashed the car a few days later.

These are the morons that give us Jalops a bad name, and why we don't see this type of exotica more often, because these idiots get them and crash them. I think if you are buying a car like this they should do a background check to see if you are an incompetent dipshit, and if so you don't get one.

Apparently the Lambo Veneno is going to be 1.93hp per Kilo.
